Police have identified the remains of a man found in the Saint John River, but will not be releasing further details at the request of the family.

The body was discovered at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B., area.

At this time, police say foul play is not suspected.

The cause of death has not been released.

The RCMP took over the initial investigation before handing it to the Saint John Police Force.
