Ontario is reporting 1,184 new cases of COVID-19 today, but no additional deaths linked to the virus.
This is the third day in a row that the province has reported more than 1,000 new infections.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 579 of the new cases are in people who are not fully vaccinated, while 69 cases are in individuals whose immunization status is unknown.
There are at least 140 people hospitalized with COVID-19 and 164 people in intensive care units, but Elliott notes that not all hospitals report these numbers on weekends.
Provincial data shows that 84.6 per cent of Ontarians aged five or older have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 80.6 per cent are fully immunized with two shots.
Data also shows the vast majority of Ontario’s COVID-19 cases have been identified as the Delta variant, though the province says there were 10 confirmed cases of the Omicron variant as of Saturday.
