Rite of spring: Cherry blossoms bring out crowds to what is usually Lower Mainland’s most barren park

Larry Berg Flight Path Park in Richmond, B.C., near Vancouver airport, draws people to sakura grove
4/5/25- Richmond, B.C.- Vivi Wang has come to enjoy the Cherry Blossom season at Larry Berg Flight Path Park which draws crowds, traffic Jams and many happy and wonderfully dressed folks out to witness the seasonal splendour. The park is usually more or less empty aside from a few airplane enthusiasts with the scene punctuated by low flying planes coming into land at YVR every 5-10 minutes. This time of year however crowds flock to the trees with their low blossom filled branches allowing people to take photos right in the blossoms. - Alana Paterson for The Globe and Mail
